Info I have is that he died 18 Nov 1969 in Winnipeg. He was a transport driver and in the year preceding his death lived with his family (wife Olive & 4 children) at 122 Wexford St., Winnipeg. Buried in Ottawa (home) but unable to locate his obit in Ottawa Journal. Thanks in advance for any info you can locate.

I've searched the Winnipeg Free Press but couldn't find a death notice or obituary. Sorry.

Hi, You know that Robert Leonard DUNCAN 1927 - 1969 -passed away November 18 1969
Buried in Ottawa Canada what Cemetery
Cemetery Office - will have some information - including name and address of Funeral Home in Winnipeg who may have taken information for the registration of death - and transport of the deceased to Ottawa. They may have taken information for / or know if an Obituary had been published - and the name of newspaper -
If the family only lived in the Winnipeg Manitoba area for one year - there may not be an obituary published there - unless there were family, friends. there are times when an obituary is published in one location - with a request that the obituary is also copied in other locations / publications.
Some - Obituaries - or notifications of death - appear after the death , burial or Cremation.

Thank you for the information and advice. Just an observation, that since I have been researching there has been a significant shift in the level of cooperation provided by both cemeteries and funeral homes, at least in this part of the country. Some, but not all, cemeteries now realize that research fees are another revenue stream and are charging for information. Funeral homes, again only my local experience, seem to be limiting their research assistance based on either privacy policies of the business or legislation of this province.
Appreciate your efforts on my behalf.

Thanks all for your efforts. Date I had been provided was incorrect, by a year. I found/spoke to his daughter yesterday who provided additional family info including a correct date of death. According to her (age 13 at the time) there likely was no obit in Winnipeg as the family was from Ottawa and only posted there. Ottawa obit located. Sorry for the false leads.

Hi,
I am finding the same. I sent an email to a cemetery on the advice of the archives in the area and haven't heard back. I sent the email about 3 months ago.

If you are getting stone-walled by a cemetery I'd call or set up a visit. Tougher sometimes with the smaller ones as they are not open and usually only have a care taker. If that is the case then I'd call the local funeral home. I've had very good success with that in a smaller community in upstate NY. If you are prevented from visiting perhaps the local area Genealogical Society can give you a contact or help you out. Good luck.
