On his naturalization papers, my grandfather indicated that he sailed on the S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam from Bremen to New York in April, 1907. In my research I found that the Nieuw Amsterdam made its maiden voyage sailing out of Rotterdam, Holland to New York in April, 1907. Could the ship have made stops at other ports before heading across the ocean to New York? or Could my grandfather's document have been falsified?
