Dear "reparmley",
I am writing because I have just started my research into the Harry Barton Rose family, of whom, one son, Ernest Miller Rose, b. 1884, was a neighbour of our family on Mager Drive in St. Vital, Winnipeg, when we lived there from 1951. He and his wife, Elizabeth (neè Macdonald), might well have been the first residents on the street. I was very excited to see your posting of Ruth Edith Rose. This name is new to me but her husband's name William B. Rose and the address of 419 Stradbrook confirm that her husband was Ernest's brother. I would be very pleased to communicate with you about the Rose family as Ernest Rose was a wonderful man, a true gentleman of his time, and became a very beloved friend of our family. He died in 1972, if memory serves me correctly, at 88 years of age in Winnipeg. It is now that I am 59 years old, that I would very much like to know his story and I have in 24 hours, thanks to Internet, uncovered many names and amazing links, the home address, for example, confirming the family home. I am not a paying member of this site (yet), but am using a 14-day free trial period, so I sincerely hope you will answer my email. Sincere thanks for your interest in this research of mine.
