Sorry to give you this unhappy news but perhaps you already know about this incident.

Winnipeg Free Press, page 1, June 9, 1964
Three Bodies Found in Double Slaying, Suicide In Swan River
Three bodies — apparent victims of a double murder and suicide — were found in a Swan River, Man., residence Monday afternoon by a milkman making his rounds.
Dead are Orlando Arthur Johnson, 74; his sister-in-law Sarah Storey, 84, and Mr. Johnson's grandson Lawrence Johnson, 23. All died from single gunshot wounds in what RCMP called a double murder and a suicide.
The bodies were found in the Fifth Avenue South residence at about 3 p.m. Monday by Anton
Dauk, who was making his milk delivery rounds.
The shootings are believed to have occurred some time after
10 p.m. Sunday, when the three were last seen alive by a neighbor.
Two rifles found by RCMP were believed to have been used in the shootings — a .22-calibre .and a .303-calibre.
The elder Johnson and Sarah Storey were killed with the .303, RCMP said. Lawrence Johnson, who died last, was killed by a bullet from the .22 rifle, which was found near his body.
An inquest was opened by Coroner Dr. J. L. Honig at 8 p.m. Monday at Paull's Funeral Home in Swan River.
The RCMP is continuing the investigation.

Kind regards, Bonnie

Greetings, Bonnie! Unfortunately I do know of this but did not have a complete account until I saw your helpful reply. So sorry I have not been better at watching my Ancestry posting. Thank You!! A short time ago I was in contact with Leone Sigurdson in your area who informed me of the newspaper clipping and, as she does quite a lot of work with local grave records and the Legion, the disposition of my grandfather's grave site ie. in veteran's area and no permanent marker. Truthfully I never knew much about my father, Arthur, or his family until 1994 when I was put in contact with distant relative Isabel (Rapley) Howdle. My father's side seems replete with tragedy as my dad mysteriously disappeared in 1961 up in the Yukon! I certainly wish I were able to locate more from news clippings of the Orlando Arthur Johnson family from 1920 to his death! At any rate, Thanks again--- Dale Johnson
