Winnipeg Free Press, Sept. 17, 1917 bottom of page 4
G. T. Brakeman Killed.
Hamilton, Sept. 15.—Cecil Haley,
of'Sarnia, a Grand Trunk brakeman,
was killed last night at Bronte when
he fell 60 feet into a ravine. The
train stopped on a bridge, and Haley,
apparently ignorant of this, stepped
out of the caboose and fell into space.
His neck was broken. An inquest has
been ordered.

I see from your other info on Ancestry that Evelyn named her son Cecil, which is also the name of Mr. Haley, above, the brakeman.
I have not seen a death of a Joseph Haley in the Man. Vital Stats index, nor is there a soldier named Joseph Haley in the index to WW I Canadian soldiers.
I will check the Dauphin newspaper for a report of Haley's death in Sept. 1917, next time I'm at the Archives here in Winnipeg (it has old newspapers on microfilm). Kind regards, Bonnie

Thought there might be more info in a report of the marriage in the Dauphin paper. There's not much, but here's the item -- thought you might like to have it.

A quiet wedding took place in St. Paul's church when Mrs. Joseph Haley was united in marriage to Miss Evelyn Silverwood. Service conducted by Rev. A. S. Wiley. Miss O Colwell was bridesmaid and John Wright was best man. The bride was becomingly dressed in cream serge trimmed with brocaded satin. The bridesmaid's dress was lavender with shadow lace. A reception was held at the home of Mrs. M. Jones of Westmoore. The happy couple left on the 12:30 train for Duluth and other U.S. points.
