Hi,
The mystery does continue. I've been trying to find information for you and think I'm even more confused.
I did find what appears to be probate information for the Annie Kosowczycz who died in Dauphin in 1936. Maybe you can find more information from that record.
http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/archives/probate/1918-1984/dauphinK...Kosowczycz, Annie 2049 Grant of Probate Book 15 193
I think the 1916 and 1921 Census records for Nykola Genik add to the mystery. There is a marriage that you mentioned in a different posting.
GROOM'S LAST NAME: GENIK
GROOM'S GIVEN NAMES: NYKOLA
BRIDE'S LAST NAME: PEDLISECKY
BRIDE'S GIVEN NAMES: ROZI DATE OF MARRIAGE: 28/02/1911
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: GILBERT PLAINS
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1911,005782
REGISTRATION DATE:
Is this the wife of the Iwan Podliaseckij (John Pidlasecky/Pedlisecky) who homesteaded the SE section of the same land where Nykol Genik homesteaded the SW section?
On the 1916 Census two of Nykol and Annie's children, Stephen and Anna, are noted with Nykol. I haven't found Dora in 1916. Rosalia age 38 was enumerated with Nykol and the two children. Rosalia Pidlasecky noted as widow and children were enumerated just below Nykol.
On the 1921 Census again Nykol and Rosa are enumerated with a number of children including Stephen, Annie and Dora from his 'marriage' to Annie. Rosa Pidlasecky is enumerated as widow with some of the same children as noted with her from 1916. If you compare the children noted with Rosa Pidlasecky in 1916 with the children noted with Nykol and Rosa in 1921 I think they may be the same children. If you check some of these last children on the Manitoba Vital Stats they appear to be Genik not Pidlasecky.
I think this may just add to the mystery that you are trying to unravel. Sorry I don't have access to the book you mentioned.
I tried to attach the 1916 and 1921 Census pages but the message would not process. I will contact you through your Ancestry Profile.
