Dymtro or Metro Motuz was born in 1917 in Erickson, Manitoba. He worked in the oil fields in Alberta.

He was married in Manitoba (possibly 1945), to Helene Tanguay and they had 3 children (1946, 1947, 1949). Marriage ended and he went to live in Leduc, Alberta. I think he remarried there.

He died in Leduc, Alberta, but I am not sure when. I would like to find his obituary.

I am looking for info about Dymtro/Metro Motuz and Helene.

Have you contacted the newspaper in Leduc? Most newspapers will do a search for you. Do you know if he was buried there?

I think he was buried there. No I haven't contacted the Leduc newspaper. Usually you need a date of death in order to do a search for an obit. But I will try it and see what happens. Thank you.

Here is a link to his gravestone. His second wife (?) is buried with him.

An update...

I have emailed several places I found in the Alberta Genealogical site. I have dates from Metro and Alexandra's stone now and I will continue to try to find their obituaries, or other information.

Besides the info found for a Metro at Manitoba Vital Statistics, I have found an Anna, which might be his wife. The area, RM of Minto, seems to be correct, covering Minnedosa. Then I found a Metro and Anna, and children (none named Metro though), on a Passenger List. They arrived in 1903 in Halifax, NS. This couple could be my Metro's grandparents. I am not sure but it seems possible.
