I am trying to find info on my grandmother Clara Clemens. I believe she married Manual Winters between 1896 -1900's. Manuel Winters met her in the United States, I am not sure where, it could be Monana Iowa. Clara was born I think March 17, 1877. When my grandfather met her, she may have had a male child. They returned to Canada, going to Dauphin Manitoba. They may also have gone to Grantly, Ontario for awhile.
I believe her full maiden name was Clara Jane Clemens, born March 17, 1877.

If any one can help, it would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The book Dauphin Valley Spans the Years has information on the family you seek. Samuel Winters came to Dauphin in 1888 leaving his parents, William and Elizabeth Winters and his six brothers Levi, Alex, Manuel, William, Joseph and Alfred and a sister Margery behind in Grantley, Ontario. Samuel married Maria Etta Dunbar. In the early 1890's Samuel's parents arrived with the younger brothers. Manuel Winters who had been working in the U.S. came and settled on the quarter adjoining the father which was at SE 10-25-20. Manuel Winters' family comprised of Verne, Luella (Mrs. Robert Cawston), Maude (Mrs. Clem Lane), John Oliver, Sam and Garth. There are over three pages on the Winters family so maybe you can get this book through inter library loan?
