I am hoping someone will be able to help me. I trying to fill in some spots in my family tree. I am looking for a death date and an obituary (if possible) of Sidnei (Sydney/Sidney or Homer) Chase. He was born July 31, 1900 in Winnipeg. He was married to Viola Elsie Cummings in Eriksdale in 1919. Not sure where he went after that, other than he stayed in Manitoba.

If anyone has information on this individual, I would love to hear from you.

In response to your query: Homer Sydney Chase was my Grandfather. my information has his Birth date as July 30,1900. He passed away from lung cancer March 16,1973 at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Mb. He was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Ashern Mb. area with his family. My Grandmother (also from Ashern) moved with my Grandfather to Davis Point in 1936 to start a lumber business, in the St.Martin/Gypsunville area. They are both buried in the St.George's church cemetery(Rupertsland Church District) at Davis Point. The land that the Church sits on was donated by my Grandparents and Homer with the help of neighbours built the church .Completed in 1939 It is still maintained by the small local community. He served in W.W.1 and W.W.2 and was wounded in the wrist. He used to wear his watch over the indentation in his wrist. He had Eight children. The information I have states a first wife named Libby who died during childbirth. One child Sydney(Girl) was adopted by an uncle I do not know . Homers' father was James Chase (England) and I have a second marriage listed as Bella Buters. they had six children. James served in W.W.1 joining the 78th infantry in 1915. I have another James George Chase (England) it appears he is the previous James father and he was married twice. Marriage 1 to Libby(no surname, birth, or death). Marriage 2 is to Emily Dennison-Smith, Leeds, England no other info. the info states that James and Libby came to Canada with their three sons; George, William, and James. That is as far as I can go for now. I can tell you more about Homer Chase if you want more specifics but I'm not sure if that is the avenue you are searching for. Hope this was helpful.
