Camper/Ashern area Beroud, Kerbrat, Simon families
Hello Folks, I am hoping to make connections with anyone who is researching any of these above family lines. My grandfather is Marius Beroud. He married Marie Jeanne Bernicot and they homesteaded in Camper area. Grandma had Bernicot, Kerbrat and Simon family who also homesteaded in area. Other Kerbrat cousins were from Saint Laurent area. Claude Kerbrat was a catholic priest. I would like to share family info. Thanks. Sharon

Re: Camper/Ashern area Beroud, Kerbrat, Simon families
My Grandparents were Leon Gabriel Marie Kerbrat & Aline Calvez Kerbrat, they immigrated to the St. Laurent area from France they did not immigrate together my grandmother met and married Leon in Manitoba. I know he had a brother Frank Kerbrat and I believe my grandmother had a brother that was a catholic priest. My father Felix Francis Kerbrat was born in St. Laurent along with his sisters, Jeanne, Henriette, Marie, Yvonne, & Frank. the other siblings were born here. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1924. My Grandfathers brother Frank and his family also immigrated to the U.S. at the same time, they later moved to California, my fathers family stayed in the Detroit, Mi. area. I am trying to trace their immigration from France. I don't know if they are any relatives of the Kerbrats you mention but it is a good possibility they are some of the cousins from Saint Laurent area.

Re: Camper/Ashern area Beroud, Kerbrat, Simon families
Hello, I am so happy to receive your message! I have contacted a Kerbrat family researcher who is descended from the St. Laurent Kerbrats and have shared your query with her. She has done extensive research and has connections with Kerbrat family and researchers in Brittany, France. She is happy to hear that you saw my message and that you wrote to me and she is willing to share info. with you. She said that she talked with her dad and he remembers a time when he was young and a Kerbrat came from Detroit to visit St. Laurent. I imagine that you will be able to share with each other and both of you will benefit from the exchange. Do you know my e-mail address from the message boards? Please write to my e-mail address and I will give you her address so that you can write to her rather than talking further on message boards.
