I just saw this posting.
Gisli Johnson was the father of Magnus Johnson. Gisli Johnson married Armann's sister, Ragnheiður.
Magnus married Ingiborg "Emma" Isfeld, they had 3 children; Grace, Clifford and Violet "Goodie".
Goodie married Ralph Eugene "Gene" Grant, and they had 2 children; Katherine and Deborah Sue "Kerrin".
I am Katherine, making Gisli my great grandfather.
We have very, very little information about my mother (Goodie Grant (Johnson)) paternal ancestry, ANY info would be wonderful.

Hi Cathie:
My name is Dennis Victor Isfeld, cousin of your Mother, Goodie Grant. When you and your sister were small girls (middle 60's) your Mom and Dad and you girls would come up to Osoyoos, British Columbia to visit me and my wife, Elizabeth and our small son, Kevin (who is now 43). My father, Einar Victor Isfeld was killed in Germany during World War 2 and is buried in Groesbeck, Holland. Elizabeth & I have been to the grave site. Your uncle, Clifford, lives in Winnipeg and I have visited him recently. I have his address, etc. You can call me at 1-250-828-0766 in Kamloops, British Columbia. Your gramma, Emma, was my father's sister. When Elizabeth & I lived in Osoyoos, I was a Member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. You can e mail me too.
2nd. cousin, Dennis Isfeld

The parents of Ármann Guðmundsson could have been Guðmundur (Gudmundur) Ólafsson (1853 - 1915)and Sigriður Þorsteinsdóttir (Thorsteinsdottir)(1853 - 1906). I would suggest that you post an inquiry on the following message board. http://genforum.genealogy.com/iceland/

Hello again:
I am sorry I have taken so long to get back to you.
Thank you for the information that you sent to me. I will continue to work on finding my biological family.
I have another question, did Armann's parents ever live in Canada?

Re: Armann Gudmundsson, b: 06.29.1883 in Iceland, setteld at Fairford, Manitoba (as 1930)
It would appear not. Armann left Iceland in 1906 at age 22 and travelled alone.

Thank you so very much.
Are you related to us?
I have never met any of my relations.
My birth name was Margaret Fern Goodman, my name was changed when I was adopted to Patricia.
I would like to know about my Icelandic family and Icelandic heritage.
