Hi Rudolph:
Just to let you know that their is a street in the Point Douglas area by the name of Argyle.
The town of Argyle is according to Waghorn s Guide, 1947, 38 miles northwest of Winnipeg.
On page 79, OAK POINT BRANCH, C.N.R.
from Winnipeg going north: Winnipeg, Westside, Moore, Lilyfield, Gordon, Grosse Ilse, Ekhart, Argyle, Woodroyd, Erinview, Inwood. Their is a schedualed stop at Argyle from the Mixed train on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday comming from Inwood to Winnipeg at 9:30 a.m. with coach fair to Winnipeg $1.00. Their is also a mixed train with a schedual stop at Argyle on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, coming from Winnipeg on the way to Inwood stopping at Argyle at 12:39 p.m.
Argyle also had a post office located at Section 7, Township 14, Range 1e. with the nearest express office at the railway station.
I don t have a provincial map with me right now but if I remember right you would be looking on No. 6. Hwy. North of Winnipeg to Inwood. I believe the town of Argyle is still their and should be on the map.
I checked the Manitoba Vital stat. site. and found 48 Freeman births. 2 of which are listed as being born in Argyle but the names and mother don t fit. You can check marriages and deaths here as well.
You can view this site on the net. Unfortunately my key board is doing funny things lately and when I want to type in a slash or back slash and an apostophie I get an e. If you type in vital stats on the search engine for Winnipeg One of the quaries should have a link to it. If I could right now I would post if for you but I think I need to get a new key board.
Good luck. Rosemary

Rudolph & Rosemary,
By the look of those family names, you are looking for the Rural Municipality of Argyle - near Brandon, Manitoba.
The village of Argyle (1/2 hour north of Winnipeg) is mainly of Scottish and European descent.
