I'm looking for information on the Parents of Joseph Boudreau, born about 1860 in quebec. He married Marie Mercier, born 1866 in Massachusetts, daughter of Francois Mercier and Philomene Janson, in Morris, Provencher, Manitoba, in 1886, where he had moved from quebec. Joseph and Mary had a son, Etienne in 1889 in Letellier, manitoba, who was my great great grandfather. They Immigrated to Massachusetts from Manitoba, Canada around the year 1900 and lived in the Attleboro, Mass area. I have not found a death certificate for Joseph Boudreau, Etienne's father, nor have I been able to find Joseph's parents or the place in Quebec where he was born. Can anyone help?

hi Josh. I came across your posting today while trying to find potential parents for the husband (Roland Mercier) of one of my great-grandmother's sisters (Aurore Vinet). I had noted the name of the parents of your Marie Mercier who had emigrated from Massachusetts to Manitoba. You noted, or the person responding to your post noted, Marie's parents as Francois Mercier and Philomene Janson. I came across a photograph of Mrs. Francois Mercier (Philomene Jeanson) from the Societe Historique de Saint-Boniface that you might be interested in. Here is the link: http://shsb.mb.ca/Mme_Fran%C3%A7ois_Mercier_et_sa_fille_SHSB...

Here's a transcription of the text accompanying the photo: Mrs. Francois Mercier, nee Philomene Jeanson, and her daughter Asina or Eseria, in Saint-Joseph duringthe 1890s. Francois Mercier was among the first group of repatriated French-Canadians who arrived at the end of May 1876 in the district of the Riviere au Marais (I believe it is referred to in English as Roseau River) where Mgr. Tache would establish the missionof St-Joseph the following year. (Note: St-Joseph, MB is a very small French-Canadian farming community in the RM of Montcalm and is situated near the town of Letellier and further on the towns of St-Jean-Baptiste and Morris.)
