I am looking for any descendants of SHEILLS family from the Steep Rock and Winnipeg areas of Manitoba.
My Great-Grandfather's oldest brother, George SHIELLS went with his brothers Herbert (WWI veteran) & James "Jim Shiells (later married Mary Esther McManus) to the Steep Rock, Manitoba area to work in the early 20th century either before or during the years of WWI. Both Herb & Jim kept in touch with their family back in the Cornwall area, and their father at one time went out there to visit them.
George SHIELLS was born 12 August 1876 in "Kalamazoo" (near Ville St-Laurent, near Montreal) Quebec, Canada to James Tait SHIELLS & Janet MUIR. Hi mother, Janet died at home in 1899 and his father died in 1920 in Windsor, Ontario.
After George SHIELLS went to Manitoba for work, he disappeared there and was never heard from again. Generations of my family have no idea what happened to him.
