Hi all,

I am looking for anyone with knowledge of my grandfather's history. My grandfather, Jacob Elchuck (Ilchuk) 2/15/1897 was a polish immigrant who came to the US via Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. According to family history he spent two years in Canada prior to moving to US through Rainer Minnesota on the Duluth, Winnipeg Railroad. My grandfathers arrival date to the US was 11/9/15. While in Canada, he worked as a logger and ran a team of horses pulling felled trees.
If anyone could provide some help, it would be greatly appreciated

Bordering crossing gives his last residence as The Pass, Manitoba, probably Le Pas which is 630 kilometres northwest of the provincial capital, Winnipeg

Hi
I have my grandfathers certificate of arrival, Nov 1915 but no where on it does it say anything about nationality, birth country or port of arrival. Can you tell me where this info came from, specific document?
Thanks again
Frank
