HERE THIRTY
YEARS PASSES
The death occurred in Portage
General hospital Sunday, Oct. 2 of
Mrs. J. Burke. Although in failing
health for some time Mrs. Burke's
death comes as a shock to her many
friends in Portage and district.
Born in Langdon, North Dakota
Mrs. Burke came to Oakville as a
young girl, thirty years ago. She
moved to Portage and has resided
here ever since.
During her residence here Mrs
Burke was very active in the Army
Navy and Air Force Ladies Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, she is survived
by five sons and five daughters.
They are Peter, Raymond,
Ormand, Morley and Wllbert, Mrs.
A. L. Boland. Mrs. Harvey Freed
Muriel, Gladys, and Joannle, all of
Portage and district.
The body rests at the Rea funeral
home pending funeral arrangements.

left Sunday for Saskatchewan
where they will be employed in the
future.
