Looking for any informtion on the Hoay/Hoy/Hoye family that came from Ireland to Pilkington Twp., Wellington County about 1847 - 1850. The family consited of a James Hoay b. 1815 in Ireland; his wife - do not know what her name was and 4 girls, all born in Ireland. One of the girls named Jean and her parents died of fever about 2 years after they arrived in Canada. The 3 remaining girls stayed with other families. My great, great grandmother - Mary Maria Hoay b. 1841 in Ireland, lived with Peter Hay's family until she married Alonzo Howes in 1861. Mary Maria's sisters were:

Elizabeth married William Grantham in 1864 and then moved to Manitoba and are listed in the 1901 census for the district of MacDonald - Gladstone.

Ellen or Hellen married Edward Blakely/Blakeley in 1863.
Any help or information on these women and their parents would be greatly appreciated

as she was left in Grandpa Hoye Hay stack and they heard
her crying as a infant and took her in this all happened in

likely buried there Grandma came to Gladstome as a young woman Both Grandma and Grandpa Grantham are buried in Gladstone Cemetary.

Sorry, I do not have information about Hoy, but Gladstone has Granthams and Darkers in the cemetery. I am related to both. Do you have Grantham information.

The proper spelling Hoye The ones you are researching is my Grandmothers family. She made a trip to Ontatio in the 1940s and got this information. The Hoye family are buried in a town in Ontario called Elora His name was James Hoye and her maidan name was Mary Ann Grantham. It is true Elizabeth Lizzie as she was known was never adoped but went uner the name of Hay as that is where she was found only hours old. They raised her as there own with the two girls of there own MAria and Ellen. Lizzie and William Grantham are buried in Gladstone Cemetary. She was never put on the stone But her Daughter and William are.
