Looking for help to find my great grandparents Canadian Naturalization Records

Surnames: Schuss
My great grandfather Frank Schuss emigrated from Romania in 1926 and his wife Stefani and children followed from in either Romania or Russia in 1928. They were naturalized on Nov 24, 1931 in Vancouver where they lived the rest of their lives. I know nothing of Stefani's family. She was born in Nov 11, 1900 in St. Petersburg, Russia and married Francis Edward John Schuss probably in Russia circa 1918. Stephanie and Frank later fled to Romania then went on to Canada. How do I find out how to request the actual intent & petition?
This is all I've found: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/immigration/citizenshi...;

Not entirely sure that those documents are available, but you can try writing to the address given.

The 1926 immigration record for Franz (Frank) indicates he was from Buzias, Romania. It was a spa town in Timis County in what is now Romania.

The German name is Busiasch and there is a website with information, albeit only in German:

http://www.busiasch.net/index.html

From Dave Dreyer's extractions of passenger records for Germans from the former Austro-Hungarian empire (known as Danube Swabians):

SCHUSS Johann -[S200 ]- Age: 21 -From: Busiasch

There are earlier records for Schuss (Schusz) in Busiasch earlier than the date you thought they came from St. Petersburg. I don't believe the family was originally Russian, but rather had always been in the Banat region (now part of Romania).

Yes the Schuss listed on Dave Dreyer's website are Frank's brothers. They are all from Romania but Frank's wife was born in Russia. Family rumors indicate that maybe her mother was Polish. I'd like to find more on Stefani but I've hit a dead end. Her death certificate doesn't list her parent's name so I was hoping I'd find more from a naturalization record. I'm not sure why Stefani listed Russia was the home country unless she and the children were staying with her family while Frank (who emigrated 2 years before) made plans in Canada. Thanks for the link!

Why did her birthplace on the passenger record show as Casin which I believe is in today's Bosnia -- back then, it would have been part of the Austro-Hungarian empire as well. I would try getting in touch with Johann Meyer at the link I sent you -- he may be able to help you find their marriage record.

They have reunions of village members regularly in Germany -- with the latest just being this year.

Just found a border crossing record at Blaine, Washington, for the daughter, Anna, in 1939, who also indicates she was born in Petersburg, Russia on 26 February 1920; Romanian by race; Canadian by nationality. Going to her uncle, John Schuss in Tacoma, Washington. Names her mother-in-law, Bella MacDonald, and her husband, Hector James, in Vancouver, as her next of kin in Canada; however, she is not allowed to enter (debarred). Only had $1.75 with her.

Unfortunately, the marriage record for Anna indicates that her mother's name is unknown???? What happened to the other two children?

Just found Frank's death certificate (familysearch.org). Names his wife as Stefani Lisutina. Says his parents were both born in Russia, but that he was born in Romania.

I just found that record this year (you're fast!). That is Stefani's daughter Anna trying to visit her uncle John Schuss in the states. Yes the death record for Frank is one of the only proofs I have of Stefani's maiden name. As far as listing Casin I have no idea. I was told she was born in Russia and she lists Russia on a lot of her documents. I assumed Casin was in Russia. Wouldn't surprise me if she was born somewhere else though. Maybe I should start thinking outside the box. Anna also puts Russia as a birthplace on her marriage certificates but I was told she was born in Romania. Roza is my grandmother (I have proof she was born in Romania) and she along with Anna and John grew up in Vancouver.
