The only information I have is what I obtained from Census records.
The 1861 Canadian, and 1870, 1875, 1880 New York, census.
Bostic Adams married Levisa (Lenisa) in 1856, possibly in Canada. Their first child Eliza/Elizabeth was born in Canada in about 1859. Their second daughter Mary was also born in Canada about 1963. They eventually moved to New York and had a third child, Louisa b. 1865.
Sometime after the birth of Louisa her mother died.

In 1869 Bostic married Mariah Patterson in New York.
Bostic is my 2nd great (great) uncle. Making these children my 1st cousin 3 times removed.
He was born to John Adams and Elizabeth Williams in New York about 1835.
I have no further information about the 3 daughters after this. They probably married and changed their names.
Thanks
Gayle

The 1861 Canadian Census has a Mary Evandale, a widow, living with them....perhaps this is Lavinia's mother? Born in England and married in the year 1816 (unusual to see that info). Aged 64.

1865 NY State Census shows the family back in the US. Mary Evandale is written as Evenden in this census. Says she had 11 children. Louisa is aged 9 months on this census (so born about November 1864). Born in Kings County. In this census, it indicates that Bostick (sic) was born in Connecticut.

On the 1861 census, the family is living in Smiths Falls, in Lanarak County and they are listed as Church of England.
I believe there was only one Anglican church at that time and there is still one. Smiths Falls is in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. You can contact the Archives at the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa and I believe they will search for a marriage in 1856 for a small fee. There might also be burials and baptisms as well.
At that time, Anglican marriages did not have to be reported and the only records are either in the parish or the Diocese archives.

You might want to post under the board for Ontario, Lanark County as well for more precise information about Smiths' Falls. The library might have more information.
Good luck.
