You will notice that both men named James Wilson died not too far apart, and in the same city in BC. I posted these men here as one could possibly be the man you search for. It seems the second posting is closer to your date you give as a birth (after subtracting; give or take a year, until you see the actual papers). I posted these men here as I had an ancestor who died about the same time as these men and in the same city, my ancestor died in Kamloops BC too...even though he was a resident of Victoria (on Vancouver Island) and area all his life in BC. What had happened was Kamloops built a "old man's home", funded by the Province of BC. They took elderly men who had somehow "given" to the province of BC (helping it grow and prospour; many HBCo men) , but were left penniless and homeless. They took these men, and moved them into the "Interior" of BC, as it's climate was believed to be more suitable for the aged.
So this posting is what I would call an educated guess...or some will say... plain luck... if one of these men happens to be the man you search for (most likely # 2 here). It is, that they caught my eye when I was searching the Archives.
Try the following site to see if someone can get you the above mentioned papers from the BC Archives, that way you will know if either of the men is whom you search for. If not, you will have to move onwards and keep searching:

This is just a guess from one person...I have not searched for his wife and her death etc, yet. I may have missed other James Wilson's who fit the same date of birth (or rough range of dates), but as far as I saw these 2 men are the only ones who fit the date of birth you searched. I will stand corrected if someone or you shows me more ;-)
Kind regards; Rocky Sampson
Just in case this happens to be the person you search for; here are some Kamloops links:

I did not check this over, but skimming it looks good.
