I live in Tasmania, so not too familiar with history etc of Canada.
I did note on 1881 Census for Canada, a James Wilson b c 1821 Scotlnad, living Victoria, on his own. Age could have been rounded off to an even 60 years.
Been searching for this man for 21 years. Rest of his family settled here in Tasmania.
