Hi Judy
I originally thought his birth year was 1870, but on his CEF papers it was down as 28.1.1871.
Please feel free to check out the death details.
Best wishes
Christine

Re: PHOTOGRAPHERS BUSHNELL, James
I have also purchased a photograph signed by Bushnell. I have found a reference to his work in the online index of a local museum's holdings, "Caption on image: James Bushnell, Arcade Bldg. 2nd Ave. Seattle, Wash." The University of Washington has 3 photos by him.Photographs and ephemera from a collection of vaudeville performers, acts and stage productions primarily from the American vaudeville circuit from the late 1800s and early 1900....I think that the one I have obtained was a local political figure....

Hello Stella:
Thank you so much for all the work you have done in researching James Bushnell. This will be a great help in trying to find the marriage of the couple in the picture.

I also have come into a portrait done by the James Bushnell studio in Seattle and it seems the photo was done about the late 1800's. I would definitely like to find out more as this was with my grandfather's things and could be an ancestor,.

Re: PHOTOGRAPHERS BUSHNELL, James
Hello, I ran across your posts about James Bushnell and have been wondering about him myself. I aquired tons of photographs from my Dads family when my father passed away. His family, Girod, lived in Tacomoa Washington between 1890 and 1920. I have several portraits that are from the James Bushnell Photography Studios. Most are from 1910 to 1915. Hope this helps.Attached is a scan of the folder from one of the pictures.

Re: PHOTOGRAPHERS BUSHNELL, James
I have also came across a web site that listed James and Bushnell as photographers for Vaudville publicity. Their address was Portland and Seattle 1897 - 1922 .

Re: PHOTOGRAPHERS BUSHNELL, James
THANK YOU! First of all, for the picture of the signature. It is a match. Yeah!! Definitely the "right" photographer. It is also nice to have the dates of the business and interesting that they were involved in vaudeville publicity - for the bride, in my picture, was said to have been an "actress". Interesting!!
THANK YOU AGAIN.

Re: PHOTOGRAPHERS BUSHNELL, James
I also have a photo that has this with a 1906 date. The photographers were James& Bushnell and they were prominent photographers in Seattle.

Yes, the photography studio was James & Bushnell. The Bushell was Corry (Corydon) who also had the studio in Portland and a few other cities such as Ellensburg. I was lucky enough to acquire 1,500 8 x 10" glass negatives from the Portland studio. I'm scanning them and am going to donate them to the Oregon State Historical Society.
