Following are my relatives who were proprietors of the CPR Boarding House in Crowsnest BC between approximately 1922 or so to abt 1959.
1] Thomas BAYBUTT & Margaret (nee FARRIMOND) 1922-1926 /
Tom was killed in a terrible car crash that spared his wife Maggie and son Henry. Maggie later married Frank CAMINITTI and they lived in Cranbrook for many years.
2] Matthew LITTLER & Alice (nee FARRIMOND, sis of Maggie) abt 1926-late 1940's.
Matt, once upon a time a pit boss and who once worked the Bankhead Mine AB & Alice semi-retired when their son Henry LITTLER & wife Ada (nee THOMASON) took over, staying there til abt 1960ish.
3] Henry & Ada moved to Cranbrook once the Boarding House closed down and he worked for several years at the Cranbrook Golf Coure. They lived next door to Agnes PHILIPS (d/o Harry & Mary Alice BROWN) and down the street (8th Ave South) from Frank & Maggie CAMINITT and next door to a lady with a wonderful veggie garden which she always shared ~ Pat BROAD.
I would love to hear more about the CPR Boarding House and its history as well as from anyone who may have known any of these people.
