From BC Archives - Thomas John Dodds died Dawson Creek 25 Apr 1958; Harriet died Vernon 2 Feb 1970 and their daughter Dorothy Alberta Ferguson died Nanaimo 2 Sep 1978. Possibly obituaries for these people would indicate where the rest of the family is.

I found an obit for Chris (Kristian) Raaen on the Bergeron Funeral Home site, and was wondering if I should contact them. Your reply confirms that I can, and I'll be sending them an email request.

I'm researching my great-uncle, Sevat Sevatson (born 1846 in Aal, Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway). His daughter Kari married Anders Anderson Raaen. Their son, Sevat Raaen, married Anna Olsdatter Kolbjornsgaard in Aal. Sevat, Anna, and their three sons (Anders, Olaf and Kristian) emigrated from Norway to Dawson Creek in 1929.

On Roots Web I've located entries giving the date of death for Sevat, Anna, and their children Andrew, Chris and Glenn.

Would someone please tell me the best way to obtain copies of their obituaries? (I live in St. Paul, MN.)

There were no obituaries for either of the Hamiltons in the Ft St John paper. From Robert's death certificate = born Ireland 10 May 1897 to Charles Hamilton and Ann Nixon. Funeral arrangements by Reynar's Funeral Home Fort St. John. His wife's full name was Jennie Lotta Lallay.

Edward Jacob Yeager, long time resident of the Doe River area passed away April 19 at St. Joseph General Hospital. Born in S. Dakota 3 Jun 1880. He came to Canada 58 years ago and to the Pouce Coupe area in 1916. Intermant in Rolla Cemetery. Survived by sister Mrs. Fred Shuman of Dawson Creek.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Mary Blanche Shuman of 521-96A Avenue, Dawson Creek were held Monday, Oct 28th from Reymar's Funeral Chapel. Burial took place in the Rolla Cemetery. The late Mrs. Shuman was born August 12, 1890 in Sturgess, South Dakota and came to Canada in 1907 and to Dawson Creek in 1952. She passed away Oct 24 at the Pouce Coupe Community Hospital. Surviving are three sons Raymond of Port Alberni; Rodney of Fort Nelson and Ronald of Dawson Creek. Five daughters Evelyn Sewell of Doe River; Gertrude Hollingshead of Doe River; Marjorie Evans of Vancouver, Myrtle Grove and Mona Feschuk, both of Dawson Creek. She also leaves 39 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.

Long-time rsident of the Rolla and Doe River areas, David Wesley Yaeger, passed away in Saint Joseph General Hospital in the city on March 22. Well known in the Peace River area, Wes in the early days was a sponsor of one of the largest stampedes held in the area. Born in Sturgess, South Dakota on Nov 22, 1899 he came to Canada 57 years ago and to the Rolla area in 1916. He has resided both there and in the Doe River area ever since. Interment took place in the Rolla cemetery. He leaves his wife Harriet May, one daughter, Mrs. Larry Talbourdet of Hudson Hope; a brother, Jake of Doe River, a sister Mrs. Fred Shuman of Dawon Creek and four grandchildren. His son Albert predeceased him in 1958 when he was killed in a truck accident near the Bailey Bridge on the Alaska Highway cut-off. Pallbearers were M. Edinger, Russell Albright, George Sewell, G. Hollinghead, N. Sewell, Les Grayston.

A large number of relatives and friends from Doe River and the surrounding district attended the funeral of the late Earl Roy (Dick) Yaeger held in the Rolla United Church last Friday. Mr. Yaeger died at the farm of his brother John at Doe River on Tuesday, Apri 5th at the age of 54 years. He was born at Ft Meade, Butte County, South Dakota on May 19, 1894. He came to Canada at the age of twelve years and has resided here until the time of his death. Pallbearers were Messrs. L. Grayston, W. Grayston, T. Williams, G. McDonald, F. Knapp and S. Torkelson. He leaves to mourn his loss two sisters, Mrs. F.Pope and Mrs. F. Shuman; four brothers, John, Jake, Al and Wes.

She leaves to mourn her loss one son Earl Woodruff, two brothers, Wes and Jake Yeager of Doe River and one sister, Mrs. Fred Shuman.

I am looking for the d.o.d. of Jennie and Paddy Hamilton and obits if possible. I suspect this to be after 1995, because Jennie had a phone directory listing at that point.
I was able to contact the last residence of of Jennie and Paddy, but unfortunately due to the Privacy Act they cannot tell me when either of them passed away.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks you so much Judy for you time and effort. As far at the followup article I didn't even know about it, I found out from Archie Myles nephew in Ontario. All I know is that the next week there was an article talking about Jennies life with her second husband, Patrick Hamilton.
