Long-time rsident of the Rolla and Doe River areas, David Wesley Yaeger, passed away in Saint Joseph General Hospital in the city on March 22. Well known in the Peace River area, Wes in the early days was a sponsor of one of the largest stampedes held in the area. Born in Sturgess, South Dakota on Nov 22, 1899 he came to Canada 57 years ago and to the Rolla area in 1916. He has resided both there and in the Doe River area ever since. Interment took place in the Rolla cemetery. He leaves his wife Harriet May, one daughter, Mrs. Larry Talbourdet of Hudson Hope; a brother, Jake of Doe River, a sister Mrs. Fred Shuman of Dawon Creek and four grandchildren. His son Albert predeceased him in 1958 when he was killed in a truck accident near the Bailey Bridge on the Alaska Highway cut-off. Pallbearers were M. Edinger, Russell Albright, George Sewell, G. Hollinghead, N. Sewell, Les Grayston.
