Your grandparents were Steve and Rose? We are related. Steve was my uncle. He stayed with our family in Canoe for a very short time. Is your mom either Theresa or Olga? I never met them but have their names down in my geneology charts.
Sure hope you can get this.

hi,
yes I am your grandpa Steve Bilyk's niece. I didn't know too much about Uncle Steves first wife and family so this is great! Its funny with the spelling of the last name. When they arrived in Canada , the customs officer asked for their name and because Grandpa Bylyk could not read nor write, he just told the fellow and it was him who spelled it the way he figured it should be spelled. I imagine there was a correct spelling somewhere but it probably would have been in cyrillac and considering he neither read or wrote, it was a moot point. In the family when they had children (all 10 of them) it all depended on the minister at the time or whoever took down the info for the births on how they spelled it. I always seen Grandpa spell his name Bylyk. However I have seen it spelled Bilyk too and then some kids had it spelled Billick even. Billick is the way my dad had his name spelled.
I have your mom written down in my family tree info but just her name and born in 1933. You wouldn't know where she was born or where she died would you? And thanks to your message on ancestry I actually have her last name spelled right now.
As for your grandpas info..his full name was Steven Joseph Billick and he was born September 28, 1911 and he passed away Jan.31, 1980 in Prince George, B.C.
Do you have any info on his brothers and sisters? Or his dad and mom? I even have the name of Daniels dad and mom.
let me knowam not too sure what info you need.
This is so neat to meet you thru the message boards..I was so excited to read your post. If you like you can write me at my email...or private message me thru the boards
thanks..looking forward to hearing from you.
