Hi Again. Looking at the photograph -
Just a wild guess - Automobile - was perhaps 1940's style.
Double breasted suit - was probably 1940's - [all men in our family photo's wore double breasted in the 1940's
Young man perhaps in his very late teens - or early 20's
Don't know if this would help - connect to a person.
Cheers, Stella

Hi Have you considered searching
snip:
Giovanni

The name Giovanni is a baby boy name.
The name Giovanni comes from the Italian origin. In Italian The meaning of the name Giovanni is: Italian forrn of John 'God is gracious' Variant of John 'God has shown favor.' See also Jovan.

Were any of the names - at the BC Archive site - family connected ?
Perhaps other family have photo's -perhaps with names written on the back ?

Try again with your grandfather - ask him to tell you stories - of his life -there are always some memories that come back - then hopefully more.
Show the photo - One day - he might just say - Oh that is -
It worked in our family -with an elderly auntie.

Cheers, Stella

Here's the problem I have:

1. That picture was shown to us from a widow of my Grandpa's nephew. Being the widow and giving away these pictures, she obviously would have no clue who it is. My Grandpa is the only one that we hoped would be able to put a name to that picture (being the only one in the family that was from that era) but with his memory going, it doesn't look like its going to happen.

2. Govani Guidi was born and raised in Tuscany, Italy and there are no records of anyone with that name. His wife (Louisa Guidi) would've probably of been born somewhere between 1851 and 1871 because their first son was born in 1881. I'm not sure if its cause I have the wrong names or if its just because there's no record of Govani and Louisa Guidi but there should be something. Govani could also be spelt Jovani and Louisa could also be spelt Luisa. Govani's full name is Govani Alexio Guidi and we believe Luisa's maiden name is Grassia.

Anyone able to help?

I am hoping someone might be able to identify who this person is in this photograph that we came across. We showed the picture to my grandpa (which is where the Guidi surname comes from). We know that it's a Guidi and possibly could be Angelo or Rudolph Guidi (but can't say for sure). It is also most likely to have been taken in BC in the Okanagan area (as that's where the Guidi family immigrated to). Judging by the car in the background and the black and white, it was taken sometime in the early 1900's. If anyone might be able to put a name to this picture, please let me know. I would also like to get some more information on a Jovani Guidi who is the father of Angelo and Nello Guidi.

(Sorry for the sideways picture, it seems Ancestry.com rotates the image automatically)

I wonder if this is a relative of yours? Any thoughts you might wish to share? i would be happy to hear from you if you are still looking for information!

Looking for any information about a Joan Clohossey who was born abt 1937 on Prince Edward Island Canada. Her birth name was Patricia Marie Kelly and she was adopted by Will Clohossey and his wife Elizabeth [Libby] Shea from Nail Pond. She married Lloyd Handrahan and they had 3 sons. The oldest one was raised by his grandparents and at her request, the younger two were placed in a foster home by family services before she left the island in the mid 1960s. It is believed she went to the Montreal area where she had a cousin. This cousin was Roger McCue and he ran a prosperous home repair business. Her family only heard form her a few times over the years and believe she was being treated for breast cancer because during her last phone call home she mentioned she was having a 2nd operation on her breasts. She may have gone on to British Columbia because the family received unconfirmed information that indicated she died in Kelowna in 1974. Any and all information and/or leads would be much appreciated by the family. Thank you.
Sheila Peckham
sheilap@usa.com
Earl and Ellen Chambers retired to Penticton from Saskatchewan pre-1984. I believe he was still living in 1997. Is there a means of finding if he has passed away ... a cemetery or obituary index?
