The family of Henry O. Harrison, b. Norway in 1878, and his wife Anna
Johnson Harrison, b. WI, US in 1879, lived with their five children in Vernon, BC for several years in the 1920s. Children Orpha, b. 1909, Charles, b. 1910, Henry A., b. 1912, Rachel, b. 1915, and Margaret, b. 1918. All b. in US except Rachel, my mother, b. in Assinaboia, SK. I have all the US censuses for this family, and the 1916 Canadian census. My mother is not quite sure when in the 1920s they moved to the Seattle, WA, US area--probably somewhere between 1925 and 1928. Does someone have access to the 1926 Canadian census and can look them up for me? Finding or not finding them would help pin down when they left.
My grandfather worked for lumber companies, and set up lumberyards from Assinaboia west as the CPR built the southern line. I don't know if it ended in Vernon, but that's where he ended up. Then he went to WA and worked in lumberyards until he retired. When I was 10 or 12 we went thru Vernon on a family vacation and found the house the family had lived in, but I have no idea what part of town it was in.
Any other information pertaining to their years in Vernon would be helpful too.
Thanks in advance,
Doris
