Since you have information from a directory on Annie perhaps you could write to the address and see if neighbors have lived there long enough to know what happened to Annie perhaps to even the year of her death. Since her husband was cremated she is probably not buried but the Vernon Family History Society www.vdfhs.com has pretty up to date cemetery lists and Vernon City hall has indexed alphabetically all the names of people buried in Vernon Cemetery even cremains if buried in someone elses plot.
