Classification: Query
Surnames: Larsen, Lord
It is actually the LORD family that I am researching ... I decided to query the Riverside Hotel after receiving a copy of a death notice for George LORD ... he died at the Riverside Hotel in 1936. George's wife Nora died in 1915 at Sam Larsen Ranch in Rock Creek and is buried in the Rock Creek cemetery. His sister Alvena was married to S. T. LARSEN; she die in 1950 and is buried in Bremerton, Washington.
I believe the Sam Larsen that I am looking for was born ca 1867 in Sweden; immigrated ca 1892 and is buried in the Greenwood cemetery on Jewel Lake Road. He died between 1936 and 1950 as Alvena was a widow when she died.
I contacted the British Columbia Genealogical Society via email a month ago to get more information on the Sam Larsen buried at Greenwood and Laura Larsen buried at Rock Creek, but never received a response.
I found Sam and Laura Larsen in the 1911 Canadian census in Greenwood Riding ... his occupation is hotel keeper. Also found a reference to Sam Larsen in Canadian Genealogy Index (1600s-1900s) ... hotel proprietor in Rock Creek (1901).
The marriage between Alvena (LORD) DAVIS and Sam Larsen must have been a second marriage for both.
