Seeking information on Sarah (Corbett) and William Martin of Princeton, B.C. Sarah Corbett was born on May 19, 1851 in West Garafraxa, Wellington County, Ontario, Canada. She married William Martin in Arthur, Wellington County, Ontario on Feb 26, 1875. They had seven children who were all born in Arthur. They were: Janet, Isabelle, William, Mary, Sarah, Lillie,and Roy Leslie. The family moved to Princeton, B.C. after 1879. Sarah Martin died on May 29, 1941 and William Martin died on November 26, 1932. Looking for family descendants, pictures of Sarah Martin and where they are buried. Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to find out the cause of death, next of kin and his place of burial as I'm not certain where to look in Kamloops.

I am looking for information on the Seymour Arm area. My husband's grandfather, George McKain Smith, his wife Bessie May (Bruch), their children Georgia, Melvin (Mel) and Cora (Cody) moved from Washington sometime between 1910 and 1918 when their first child born in Canada, Lewis (Lew) was born in Armstrong (even though they lived in Seymour Arm). George (my husband's father), then Lydia (Mae) and then Gertrude (Gertie) were also born in Armstrong (at least by the information I have been given anyway). I am interested in information available for that time period, history of the area, pictures, etc. What kind of information is available? Would there have been a church in the area that could possibly have records?

I am trying to track down some relatives who went to Salmon Arms in late ealy 1900s. Details of them are:
Thomas Richard BENNETTS b 16 July 1885 Maitland Aust, d 18 February 1968 Salmon Arms.
Wife was Janet Rose Hunter McLaren b 21 May 1889 in Scotland, d30 August 1965 Salmon Arms.
Children were:
1. Thomas John Murray BENNETTS b c1918 Salmon Arms, KIA WW11 in Belgium 7 October 1944. His widow is Patricia Kathryn Macky. Children of this marriage unknown.
2. Agnes Janet Rachael BENNETTS b17 August 1918 Hazelmere England, d 26 February 2002 Salmon Arms. Marital status unknown.
3. May BENNETTS b December 1920 location unknown. d unknown. Spouse was Craig Milliken.
4. David John BENNETTS b 31 March 1922 Enderby BC, d 11 February 1987 location unknown. Spouse was Edith May Taylor.

I any of the descendents of these people are in this list, I would appreciate contact and I am able to provide a lot date on other lines in the BENNETTS family.

Family oral history tells that one of my relatives emigrated to Canada and joined the RCMP. The RCMP Historical Section have advised that they have no record of him.

I have details of his and his spouse's deaths in Salmon Arms from BC BDM website.

I am wondering if, perhaps, some other Law Enforcement Agency operated in Salmon Arms ?????

On tracing my McCormick's in Ireland, I uncovered
whom I believe to be the sister of my GGG G/Father
James McCormick.

Her name was Amelia McCormick b abt 1829, think in
Co.Down - Ireland. Amelia married John Bassett in
1850, and after checking the Ancestral File on the
IGI, discovered John and Amelia, left for Canada.
The submitter is a Elsie G Tait of Crofton BC.

I believe Amelia McCormick's parents were,
James McCormick and Amelia Rochford.
My GG Grandmother was Amelia Rochford McCormick,
who married My GG G/Father David Lindsay - Leith -
Midlothian - Scotland.

Or I could be totally way off the mark?

I have a George Emil Slater who was born in 1888 in Quebec and lived in Kamloops for 45 years and died in 1966 (Kamloops) at the age of 77 years. His mother's name was Ann Eliza Slater (died 1935) and she was my great grandfather's sister. From relatives letters, he appears to have had a family but I have no names. In his Attestation papers for W.W.1, his trade was plumber and steam fitter.

They lived in Squilax, BC. but later, through no fault of his, the couple separated and my grandmother went to Kamloops. I am trying to find out any information pertaining to my great-aunt, Rose Young, of Revelstoke, BC. She would have been born in either Revelstoke or Exshaw, Alberta in abt. 1909-11. Rose did go to school in Revelstoke and apparently married someone named Angus Macdonald. She moved to Calgary and nobody really knows whatever happened to her.
Rose's parents were Samuel and Hannah Young, her brothers were Charles (moved to Manitoba), Percy, and Jack Young. I believe that Rose and Angus Macdonald did eventually divorce. However, nobody knows anything about Rose at all. She did come to her mother's funeral in Revelstoke during the Christmas season of 1941, then headed back to Calgary. Any info would be very helpful. Lord Aylmer was involved in the dredging of the S. Thompson River. They were friends of Mr. and Mrs. Underwood who owned and had built the Underwood Hotel around the same time . These are early bulidings still in Chase. Aylmer's bought property from the children of the founder of Chase, B.C.....Whitfield Chase. I am trying to find records on GOLDMAN SHULER after 1898. Goldman was born 1838 in North Carolina USA, grew up in Georgia, went west to the California gold rush (where he was listed in the 1860 census), then to British Columbia. Apparently became a Canadian citizen (since he was on the voters list). He was my gg grandfather's brother.

I am trying to find information about the Traven family, but nearly every resource I have found directs me to a bunch of information about people from Slovenia. These are not the folks I am looking for.

My information is that some guy called John (or Jack) Trevanian or Travanian arrived in America from England in sixteen hundred and something and changed his name to Traven (presumably to signify his "new start"). Very little other info to go on except he may have lived in Virginia.

James apparently died yound (perhaps in Barkerville) and she relocated in Spences Bridge or Ashcroft or ?

Eventually they settled in North Bend for awhile. They suffered a house fire in which one girl died and of whom we find no record. It is Mr. Richmond's and the girl's inform. I seek.
