I asked my Grandfather about where the patients were buried. He said they were sent back to thier families. If the person was from Kelowna then they went back to Kelowna. However some patients were buried here in the local Kamloops cemeteries. For example; if the person was from Montreal, they would not sent him back to Montreal. If the family had money then they would have buried the person at Pleasant street cemetry, if not then at 6th avenue cemetery. Hillside Cemertry was opened sometime after 1957. There is one other cemetery on Lorne street which is called Pioneer Cemetery, but I believe no one has been buried there since the 1930's. If you want me to do a bit a looking around for you I can. All I need is his name and the approximate date of death. If I am able to find him then I could take a photo for you.
