SEEKING OBIT - Kamloops

SEEKING OBIT - Kamloops

Surnames: Seaman
Hoping that some kind soul will read this message and be willing to help me to locate a news story in the local newspaper. I realize that the Kamloops Daily News has ceased publication. I'm hoping that copies of the old newspapers are archived or microfilmed somewhere.

Vernon David SEAMAN died 15 Jun 1970 in a plane crash in Cherryville. He and his wife lived in Kamloops, so I am hoping that an obituary was printed there.

found this on Findagrave

Vernon David Seaman

Birth: Jan. 7, 1933
Trail
British Columbia, Canada
Death: Jun. 15, 1970
Cherryville
British Columbia, Canada

Vernon's father, Verne McKenzie, briefly used the name "Vernon Seaman" in the early-1930s. Therefore, Verne was "Vernon Seaman" when he married Sylvia Homer and his two sons carried the Seaman surname. Verne McKenzie never used the "Vernon Seaman" after he and Sylvia divorced and his family never knew him by that name. Vernon David used the name Seaman all of his life, but his bloodline is that of a McKenzie.
