We visited Greenwood in 2001. Also have copies of female names that were born in Greenwood in the right time frame. This has been a very lengthy search, since 1989. DNA does show that the adoptee (my husband) is related to McDonell/McDonald. Those are the names I have tried to follow from Greenwood, BC. I have had a lot of help with family trees with connections but nothing up to 1944 when he was born. I have written on the Greenwood Facebook page and was in contact with people from their museum in the past.
He has his original birth certificate, which is where we got the Greenwood, BC and approx. year of her birth. But, she gave a very common "fake" name and would not give anyone her real name or address. By now, it is likely she is deceased. Thanks.
