If you look at the 1934 record, Laura gives quite a lot of information. She is Canadian, and is just coming from Chase, BC, Canada, where her mother Nellie Bagley is living. She is travelling with Jackie 8, Albert 6, and Robert 4.

Chase is in the BC interior and would then have been fairly small and remote (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chase,_British_Columbia)

She says that from her birth (1893) in North Dakota to 1908, she lived in Minnesota, and from 1922-26, she lived in Spokane. She was headed for Wenatchee, Washington, to meet her husband Albert Cornwell, who was working in Spokane. Her way was paid by Cand. Relief.

The immigration officer has notes on the reverse side. He indicates that her family had been on relief in Canada for over 2 years. Her husband left Canada March 23 1934 and entered the US on a freight train. It is hard to read the part at the bottom but it looks like it says that her mother and father are naturalized Canadians.

Laura's parents seem to have been Nils or Nels N. Bagley or Baglee born c 1861 Norway and Nellie born c 1858 Norway. The birthdates of their chlidren on the 1895 Minnesota census suggests that the family emigrated between 1887 and 1891, as the children up to 1887 were born Norway and the ones 1891 and after were born in Minnesota.

If Jack Cornwell was born Feb. 19 1926, then it seems he was either born in Spokane or in Chase BC, depending on when Laura left Spokane.
