Dear Robert,
How nice to get your post! My name is Brenda Perkins. My great-grandmother Lucy Moore was your great-grandmother Rose's sister. That makes us 3rd cousins.
Lucy settled in Arizona and she and my grandmother, Mary, visited many years ago up there. I have many photos of your family and have a website where I have posted them as I found people and many have been identified over time. It all started with an old photograph album of my grandmother's. Anyway, I'm going to send you an "invitation" to view the site I set up. So if you are interested, please have a look. The photos are there.
I spoke to your Uncle Larry many months ago and had a nice chat. He gave me what he knew on the family but I didn't have anything on your mother and you. I have a sweet letter that your grandfather wrote to my great-grandmother from 1955. I have a paragraph kept in my genealogy software and it says "“Eleanor is graduated from high school this year. She is 17. She is resting up now to be ready to go out with her boyfriend tonight. He works in the power house at the mill. (did that turn out to be your father?) I guess she will be wanting to get married soon.” He signed it "Your loving brown eyed boy." The hard copy is somewhere in all the paperwork I have.
Anyway, sorry to go on so much. Just happy to touch base. I had no idea your Aunt Amy was still alive! How neat! I've figured out just about where everyone in your great-grandparents generation ended up and I'm working on the Moore lineage. Right now I'm back to the early 1800's. There is a file uploaded on the site I'll be showing you called I think "The Whole Chronology" or something like that. It will give you a sense about the English side of the family. If you have any questions about it, please let me know.
Otherwise, please enjoy and thank you so much for writing!
Brenda
