Helen, I would love to receive a copy of the Mustard History. I believe I saw an early version of it at my grandparents' home in Calgary many years ago (Ivan and Alma Rhodes). Please contact me at swarbric@telusplanet.net so we could make arrangements to get that. I would pay shipping and copying fees.

It is interesting to see the Berry name on here. My dad (Garry Rhodes) used to tell a story about Harvey Mustard taking his sons-in-law hunting in Banff park and trying to register with the names Mustard, Carrot and Berry and being asked what their names were last week! As with any story my dad told, one had to pick out the grain of truth from the bushel of embellishment;)

Berry Mustard connection goes back before the time of the Virginia 8th & 45th Regiment ,interesting you mentioned Grub Axe to Grain book always got a laugh about the only remaining Berry family members are Dezall and Manrose clans while being one of over a dozen Berry families still around in FACT one of the Rhodes girls daughters is married to a Berry.........The Berry's families were in Raven Alberta district well into 1980s and only returned to Red Deer which isn't even 50 miles east of Raven after William Harvey Berry health took a serious turn for the worst also don't see any thing on Preston Berry history of outfitting around Jasper pretty sure the Berry & Mustard families were both equally involved in early years of outfitting around the area .. You just never know where those Galvanized Yankees from along the Niobrara River, will pop up ,do ya ?

The working relationship between the Berry boys and Harvey Mustard are clearly proved in the naming of Berry's Creek near Jasper named after great grandpa William Oscar Berry of Raven http://www.ourroots.ca/page.aspx?id=855805&qryID=bda... and yes Archie we are part of the Augusta ,Rockbridge, Washington County ,aka as the Fincastle Virginia Berry clan... as far as the comment bushel of embellishment I rather see family heritage based on facts don't really see why anybody be surprised a Berry family member would show up on a Mustard site
