The first 12 years of my life were lived in Sterco Alberta. It was a coal mining town south of Edson Alberta. Very pretty town nestled in the mountains. Wonderful place to grow up. If you want specific information u can e-mail me and I will try and remember.

I just took a really quick look at a map I have of the area you inquired about. It looks to be roughly 80 km south and west of Edson, Alberta. I am currently living in Edson. Approximately half the drive to Sterco consists of gravel road which carries heavy oilfield and recreational traffic. Gorgeous part of Alberta, I must say.

I have found a luggage tag for Niels C. Neilson. I am thinking that it might be an overseas trunk or perhaps WW2 items coming home?
Would you know this family??

Sterco was just southeast of Hinton Alberta in the area known as the Coal Branch. My husband and twin brother were born in Sterco in 1945.
