I have been trying to locate a date of death for my Uncle Tuff but no one seems to have a date. We know that he died in the spring of 1949 as a result of complications from a tonsillectomy, but no one has a date. In the event someone is at the Sacred Heart Cemetary in Strathmore, could you please see if there is a date on his stone. I have checked the listings on the internet for the cemetary but they do not include actual dates, only years. Thanks so much.

The Master Surname Index (not online) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists some 400 Cote names among them are;

Milton Girvin COTE, 24 Nov 1918 - 4 Apr 1949 (s/o Walter)
Bernice E. COTE, 1915 - 1933 (d/o Walter)
Walter A. COTE, 1887 - 1967
buried next to each other in the Sacred Heart cemetery at Strathmore.

They were friends in York, England, United Kingdom in 1944/45 - he was in the Air Force.
