Hi 'oldancester',
You are correct! James Alexander Tait was born 31 Oct 1884 Edinburgh Scotland the son of James Tait 1854-1933 a shepherd and Christina Robertson 1857-1931. They migrated to Canada in 1890 along with their three other children Jane Elizabeth & Ellison. Married names respectively Taylor, Galland & Harding. They settled in Rosebud Alberta where James senior was a shepherd and then they moved to Langley BC where James, Christina & James jnr farmed together. James did not marry. I am a descendant of Christina's brother John so you might have more luck contacting L _Attrel as she very kindly helped me a couple of years ago.

Hi L_Atrell,
I'm more than happy to swap info but not sure where to start. I do know that christina was born Joan Robertson and was only 3 when her father was killed by a runaway horse & cart. If you would like a photo of Christina's younger brother John or older sister Jessie (Janet) my email is zaponaus@optusnet.com.au and I am more than happy to send them to you.
Regards,
Shirley

That would be absolutely fantastic. I didn't know about Christina's father being killed by a run-away horse or pretty much anything else about her and would love to know more. I did know that she was born Joan. My granny (Elizabeth) had said they had a big dairy farm and that her dad (James Tait) was a shephard. I do have a picture of James Tait's parents and a small picture of Christina with Jeannie standing beside her and Elizabeth (as a baby) on her lap which was taken while they still lived in Scotland. Would you be interested in either of these pictures. Looking forward to hearing from you again.
