Surnames: rosebrook, Webber, Brydon?, Macarther
I recently wrote to and received information from the Vital Records Office in Alberta, Canada about my Grandfathers (George Emmerson Rosebrook) first marriage to a Mary Blanche Webber (June 24th, 1910) and his wifes death, Aug. 22, 1910 Courtland St. in Lethbridge in Canada. My information states they lived in Warner, Alberta, Canada. I am trying to locate family or perhaps a burial location in Canada. Her fathers name was John Frederick Webber and her mother was Wil??? Cropp and it appears she was born in Colusa Co, Calif. They give no date of birth but the age on one doc. is 26 and 28 on the other so will assume she was born 1891-1894 time frame. Thank you in advance for your time. Wendy

The Master Surname Database (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society does not list the ROSEBROOK name and no Mary Blanch WEBBER and no John Frederick WEBBER that fits your query.

Your ROSEBROOK is in the AGS Homestead Index.
For further research please contact the Research Committee of the Edmonton Branch. You may want to check with the AGS Lethbridge Branch.

Peter..thank you so much for your prompt reply...I obtained the land grant documents a while back and that gave me the info I needed in order to find the marriage and death certs. I wonder if they would have brought her back to Colusa to bury her? if her family was still here? It shows her place of birth as California..oddly it shows her religion as Roman Cathlolic on the Death Cert. but Protestant on the Marriage Cert. Her age is 28 on the Death Cert. and 26 on the Marriage Cert. They were married in Knox Church in Lethbridge Record No. 1085 W. Oddly it states in the remarks section of the Marriage Cert.."Contracting Parties could not give more definite church connection"..Witnesses were Walter Williamson Brydon and Hugh Hathaway Macarther both of Lethbridge.

I found evidence on the homestead papers that he became a citizen of Canada and there is a number and a note that it the paperwork had been registered ad returned to him..but nothing more and am told they are not available?

Again...thank you for your reply and your help.
Sincerely, Wendy

I see you mention "Death Cert" ,Sometimes we find more information on a "copy on the Death Registration"
http://www.servicealberta.gov.ab.ca/766.cfm

And check with the local AGS Lethbridge Branch.

Thank you so much...I have the Certificate of the Cause of Death..oddly the "date of death" is August 22nd. 1910..then the Registration of Death..that states the "date of death" is August 20th, and the certificate is dated the 22nd. But the rest of the information on both is pretty much the same. I will check with the sites that you sent me and again I appreciate your help..Sincerely, Wendy
