Surnames: Montgomery, Shaw, Cubitt
I'm interested in learning about life in the village of Chauvin in the late 1930's to mid '40's. My mother's family lived there during that time. Her grandfather William Cubitt was the grain buyer at the elevator; he and his wife Mamie (nee Shaw) lived in a large white house on a hill just outside of town. Her parents, Phyllis Cubitt and Art Montgomery met at a community dance there in about 1929. We know very little about the Montgomery side of the family. If anyone was around in Chauvin in those days and remembers any of the aforementioned, I would love to hear about it!

Hello. I am writing to you about your posting listing Cubitt in your family name. My mother's maiden name is Cubitt. Do not know if we "connect" or not. Please contact me at the above e-mail. Thanks. Sue
