Please, am looking for info on my grandparents, George Albert & Florence Ruth RUBBELKE. George was a teletype operator & then station agent for the CPR all over Central & Southern Alberta from 1914 till his retirement( I'm not sure when). They lived in CPR Station Houses most of their life with their family of six children. Austin their first born died @ six months, then Louise, Agnes, Vincent, James & Margaret came along over the years. If anyone has info on this family or where Austin might be buried please email me stawart@telusplanet.net Thanks.

This may be of little help but my grandfather, Joe Hovan was the station agent in Milk River from 1929 - 1967.
The government of Alberta gave a grant to all the communities in Alberta to write their history and have it published as part of the 1967 100th anniversary of Confederation. It's possible that the local library in Vulcan would have a copy if one was printed for their town. I know the Milk River edition had many family histories and pictures. It could also give you a clue as to who worked with the CPR and knew your family.
Good luck - Carol

Peter, what Rubbelke names do you have in your data base? I am always searching for more to add to my research. The names Florence were mentioning are all in my direct family tree.

Hello there,

Am replying to your answer to my query I made several years ago. My grandparents were George Albert & Florence Ruth[ nee Foard] Rubbelke. They were from Minot-Devils Lake areas originally but moved to Alberta Canada. If this strikes a family connection, please email me.
Sincerely Flo
