PLISHKA, MELNYK, PAISH, TRYNCHUK, SAVARYN
Looking for information on the PLISHKA family who settled in the Myrnum area in 1906: Mykyta and Hafia, from the village of Uhryn,Halychina (my grandfather Andrew's great-uncle). Sons: Fedir and Mykyta, daughters: Anastasia, Anna, Palahia, Warwara (married into families listed above). Current generations would be my father's 2/3 cousins. I obtained this info out of the Ukrainian Pioneers' Assoc. publication of 1975. Would be very interested in knowing whether any family members are still in contact with relatives in Ukraine. Thanks.

My great grandfather Josep Sawaryn came with his family to Brazil in 1925. He was born in Krotoszyn in 1878. I would like to know if there is any information available about this surname.

My father was born in Medicine Hat in 1927 and lived with Ukraine relatives in his early years. His father was Alfred Bria Paish and his mother was Flossie May Paish (nee Watson). Don't know if this is what you are looking for. Let me know. Dad is still alive but has a limited knowledge of his roots. He is very clear on the Ukraine connection. Look forward to hearing from you.

My father's family came to the US about 1912. The Ukrainian spelling is very similar to your family's spelling. They came from the Ternopil area, about 30km south. A small town Iwanka, I'm unsure of the spelling. They came in to NYC, then moved to NJ. Some of my family did immigrate to Toronto, now are all deceased.
Sincerely, Barbara Shannon-Brown ba

My father nad grand father were born in Lwow (now Lviv in Ukraine). Most Sawaryn I know are coming from that area. I am surprised to learn the there were also Sawaryn in Krotoszyn and so early. Many Sawaryn are living now in Poland but obviously it is not a polish name, I think neither ukrainian. Maybe french - Savarin; or italian Savarino. Best regards from Andrzej
