Illena Klem (1860-1912 ) married Ewan Klem (1851-1914) about 1880 in Bukovina Ukraine. They emigrated to the Whitford area in Alberta in 1899. I am searching for Illena's "maiden" name and did any of her relatives settle in Canada? The variation of the name Klem was also "Klein" "Klym" "Klim" or "Kleim"
Please Help.

A Klem family from the same area are in the Warspite history book, but the first names don't match those in the 1911 census. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=12374 The bio is on page 279, but do a Klem search in the book and click on the page numbers. Butch

Hi,
Illena KLEM was born 1860 passed away 1912 ?
REGISTRATION of DEATH / Long form Death Certificate
Depending on the knowledge of the informant - may show the names of both parents - including the maiden name of the mother . May actually show the place of birth/ city/town/village -
The Provincial Archive in Edmonton may be able to help - Otherwise
Alberta Vital Statistics Registry office in Edmonton - though the cost could be aprox $40
