Surnames: Michaylenko
I am trying to trace my grandfather, Sam Michaylenko, who apparently at one time lived and/or owned land in the Thorhild area. This would have been between 1915 and 1925 based on other event in his life.

If anyone has run across this name in their records, I'd appreciate hearing from them.

thanks.

Surnames: MICHAYLENKO,
Hi William,
I searched the Alberta GenWeb site - Local and Community History Books. Families were asked to submit family histories etc. The name MICHAYLENKO - does not appear.
Are you sure of the Spelling of the Surname.

The site does not have all of the Local and Community History Books Published.-much depends on persons
Volunteering.

Contact the Village of Thorhild.
http://www.thorhild.com/contact.htm
They did have a book published.
They should be able to tell you if there is any references to your grandfather in the book. Also, the Village office - may have some information archived from that period of time.
There should be an Archive - where further information may be found.

Contact: The Provincial Archive in Edmonton. They may have Land Records etc.

I searched the National Archive of Canada,Ottawa :
Western Land Grants. There were 0 results.

I searched the Online White Pages Directory MyTelus.com
for the name MICHAYLENKO -Alberta - with 0 results.
A search for MICHAYLENKO - Nationwide - found 1 listing in Surrey B.C

In the Early 1940's we had the National Registration of All Canadans over the Age of 16 years. This information is available. The fee aprox $48.00. refunded if no information found.
Wishing you much luck with your search.
Cheers, Stella

I have information about a Sam Michaylenko who lived in the Prince George, B.C. area. He died here in 1940 at the age of 45. Could this be your guy?
