Re: Retlaw History: Culver
Hello -- I hope this thread is still active. I came across it yesterday. My great aunt was Nellie Culver (b. 1871 England) She was married to James Culver. In the 1920's they lived on "the homestead" in Retlaw. By the time I got to know her -- in the 40's & 50's -- they were not together and she did not refer to any children. However, she received a letter from Jim Culver in December 1960. At that time he was living in Lethbridge, Alberta. He mentions, "Emily" and "granchildren" in West Virginia and Ohio. Nellie carried this letter with her until she died in Vancouver in 1963 (64?) If you have any info re: their lives in Retlaw, marriage dates etc. I would love to see it. She was a dear, dear lady & very close to her sister, my grandmother, May Owen.

Re: Retlaw History: Culver, shaw
I too stumbled upon these messages quite accidentally, surely not expecting to find a SHAW connection in Alberta. I am a descendant of Michael Shaw, Shoaf, Schoff who was married to Freelove Culver, Collver. I am interested in finding out anything that is missing from my tree with regards to the SHAW decendants. All generations. I have much information to date, but would like to fill in some blanks. Email me directly if anyone can be of help. echod@mnsi.net

Re: Retlaw History: Culver
Hi, I've noted the date on your message is 2002, so I hope you are still researching the family of Edwin Lewis Shaw. I also have found this person in my Shaw family tree. I'd love to hear from you to see if they are one in the same. Thank you, Nadine pompacmom3@hotmail.com
