I'm doing a family tree and I need information on these families. My Grandmother was Elise L'Hirondelle, she was married to my grandfather Sam Rowland, who lived in St. Alberta AB. Also the Dube family. My Grandmother was Ameila Dube and my Grandfather was James Paquette. I would appreciate any information one can give. Willing to exchange information also. Thanks.

Have you looked into the book written on the history of St. Albert by Dr. Anne Anderson. I have it at home (I am at work now) so if you want I will look up those names for you to see if she did their family tree.

I have 18 pages from my book The First Metis...A New Nation for three of the families you are researching. I will photocopy them and mail them to you if you give me a mailing address. I am related by marriage to L'Hirondelles and also to the Rowland Ballendine connection of which I am still working on their history.

This is my website where I have some Ballendine history and will have more soon.

All the best

Surnames: L'Hirondelle
My Grandfather was Joseph L'Hirondelle 1884 - 1965 m to Elise Bellrose 1883 - 1970. They came from the St. Albert area in Alberta. They had 6 children, Hector 1971 - 1918 (deceased during the Spanish Flu Epidemic), Patrick who married Emma Anderson, Fabiola who married Dwight Muth and moved to the US, Fleuri who married Rose Campbell and Raymond who married Arendina Verloop (my parents). My Grandfather and Grandmother lived in northern Alberta at a place called L'Hirondelle (also known as Prairie Lake - the post office was named after him) which is near Little Buffalo and Cadotte Lake. If any of this helps, I have a complete family tree up to my father's generation beginning with Jacques L'Hirondelle 1759 - 1854 who married Josette Pilon 1782. I have my Metis status.
