Hi Sherri,
I noticed your post on Ancestry last night regarding Leslie Chadwick and his family. His first wife was Hannah Graham (not Sarah Graham) who was my great great aunt. You can find them on the 1921 census, in Alberta, district Strathcona, sub-district 30 (page 5). Here it shows Leslie, his wife Hannah and their children Clara, Annie and Nellie.
I am also curious about this family and what became of them after Hannah died. Years ago, my grandmother told me this:
Hannah was married to an American, last name Chadwick. They had two sets of twins and at least two single birth children. After Hannah died in childbirth, her mother (Annie Graham) took 3 of the girls and the others went back to the US with their father. The 3 girls that stayed were May (born abt 1913, and twins Edna and Elsie born abt 1921) - this is according to my grandmother. The girls were then raised by sisters of Hannah - Clara (my great grandmother) and Janet. May lived in Washago, Ontario, Edna in Quebec and Elsie in Lindsay, Ontario.
We have never known anything about any of the other children. We also aren't sure of the date of Hannah's death. If she had 7 children, and on the 1921 census only had 3, she couldn't have died in 1922.
Have you ever come across documents to confirm the date of Hannah's death, the names of all the children, and which ones were the twins? My mother did know May, Edna and Elsie personally as a child.
Thanks in advance if you can shed some light on this family!
