these have been transcribed by Volunteers.
Original Images - Original Handwriting -is sometimes very faint -ordifficult to read. Family name may be mis transcribed.

Are you certain of the spelling?
Do you know When? Where your Grandfather Camile VanWASSENHOVE - passed away?
Do you know When /Where your Grandparents were married ?
Do you have your VanWASSENHOVE [?] parent Genealogical Registration of birth?

the william mackay is very familar to me i might have to check my family tree i know i have some mackay's but i don't know about cusitar

Registration of Death - should show the Place of Birth if known to the informant.
Registration of Marriage - may show the place of birth - names of both sets of parents - including maiden name of the mothers - place of birth of the parents - if required at the time.

Seems we may have ancestors in common. My Great Grandmother was Maggie Martineau of the Fon DU Lac band of Chippewu/Ojibewa, daughter of Joseph Martineau and Margaret LeMeiux. Seems the Missiornaries liked to use "Margaret"and different dirivites a lot which is why there are so many. May know some contacts also who can help with information. Have you tried searching on "Tribalpages.com"? My mother says the Delany name is familiar and we were supossed to also have some Blackfoot in the close family. Looking for the daughters or son of Corky West, who died in 1979. One daughter was formerly named Myrtle West, the other
Debbie West and the son Nelson West.

My father was Corky's brother, Vincent "Buck" West (died 1978), and I am trying to find more information about his life. The entire West family was formerly from the Vilna area.

Note: A woman named Kitty emailed me in April 2010 saying she knew Myrtle West. Unfortunately, my reply emails to Kitty did not seem to go through.

I found a source which I added to my tree indicating they were a founding family of Gloucester now called Carleton area of Ottawa. I am so glad to hear from you. I am the great granddaughter of Catherine Delaney Harrison - John Delaney's sister. Have some info too -- am going to look it up and send to you. John Delaney's parents were Thomas Delaney and Mary Devine -- have some dates, etc. WIll get organized and send to you. When I was in Ottawa, Nepean area found some of the Delaney family graves, and also Fulford graves.
Have a copy of the book "Two Months..." - by Theresa Fulford and the other Teresa. It was a different world. The story that came down to us was that Genevieve and John had a relationship that continued after his marriage to Theresa, and after her arrival in Frog Lake. But we also hear that she had been sent to the mission at Onion Lake. We had no information as to how they met or began their relationship. Did not know her parents or affiliation. Although one source said she was an adopted daughter of Poundmaker? Had not heard of the "My People the Cree" = I will see if I can find a copy.

Hello Alexsa, My name is Susan Dahlseide and I am the granddaughter of Maggie Martineau, nee Delaney. My mother is Eva Martineau Dahlseide the only surviving member of Maggie and Adrians family. I have done extensive research on the Delaney side and have found that there are links back to Napean (Ottawa) on the census online site that indicates he was a child of Thomas Delaney and Mary Dwan (or Dwar of possibly Dewar) as well as references to John Delaney in the book "Two Months in Big Bears Camp". There are several other books one by Joeseph F. Dion, called "My People the Cree" who was instrumental in the recognition of the Metis People in the area. Our information on John Delaney is not always kind but it was a different world then. We know that he was married to Theresa Fulford in Napean in the mid 1800's we have two schools of thought here as to how he got together with my great grandmother. Her name was Genevieve Missinabiskop. Her parents names were Marguerite Iskwesis and Amokamik. She was a member of Big Bears Band. SOme say they were married in the Indian Way some say she was in dire need of food and traded intimite relations for it. If you would like to know more please feel free to ask. You can reach me here. Also what day did your Mother, Edith pass away.
In the obit says that Ida is of Wingham, which I'am close to, do you have her married name and I can look her up and stop in for a visit

I'm sorry but I do not have any info on FX Klyne and Esther Hallet. They do come from the same Klyne family as my husband's though. Have you tried the census records at automatedgenealogy.com or the metis script records and the 1881 census records at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/index-e.html

I am trying to find more of the descendants of Esther Justine Hallett and Francois Xavier Klyne. They had 10 children. The family lived in North Dakota and southern Saskatchewan around 1900, but many of them moved on. Please tell me if you have anything you think I will be interested in. One of the girls married a Patterson and another married a McDougall.

The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society lists these possible names;

Johanna PEEVEY, 1926 - no death date
Walter PEEVEY, 1924 - 1995
buried next to each other in the Westlawn cemetery at Edmonton.

Exilia DRAGON, 1878 - 1938 nee FORTIN w/o Damase,
Damase DRAGON, 1873 - 1935,
buried in the St Isidore RC cemetery at Plamondon.

The local history book "Lac La Biche, Yesterday" has the Dragon family on page 144.
